What I'm currently up to
Developer Advocate at Google Cloud, focusing on AI infrastructure - GPUs, TPUs, clusters, and model performance. Helping developers understand how to build and scale ML systems in production.
Most of my time goes into creating educational content, giving talks, and working directly with teams adopting AI/ML on GCP.
Volunteering with FIRST Robotics, mentoring high school teams on robot design, programming, and competition strategy. It's a great way to stay connected to hands-on robotics and give back to the community that got me started.
Finishing up my Masters in AI at UT Austin. Currently taking Automated Logical Reasoning and Case Studies in Machine Learning.
The intersection of learning and embodiment is where things get interesting - it's what drew me from robotics into AI research.
Learning to play Hammond Organ on my C3. There's something special about the mechanical complexity of a tonewheel organ - it's basically an electromechanical computer from the 1950s.
Working through jazz standards and getting comfortable with drawbar registration and the Leslie speaker.
Learning Lindy Hop swing dancing. Started a few months ago and it's become a great way to get out of my head and into my body.
There's a surprising amount of connection between partner dancing and other things I care about - communication, improvisation, responding to feedback in real-time.
Wrapping up my electric sailboat conversion project. Built out the battery system, motor, and monitoring infrastructure. The boat is almost ready for sea trials.
Also crewing on a Seattle to Hawaii passage on a friend's boat this summer. About 2,400 nautical miles of open ocean.
This is a now page. It's a snapshot of what I'm focused on at the moment.
